Tamegroute is a small village in the Draa Valley in southern Morocco, known for its rich history and unique pottery tradition. The village is home to the Tamegroute Pottery Cooperative, where artisans craft distinctive green-glazed pottery using ancient techniques passed down through generations. The signature green color, achieved using local clay and minerals, is a hallmark of Tamegroute ceramics. In addition to its pottery, Tamegroute is also renowned for its spiritual and cultural significance, being home to a historic Sufi library and zawiya (Islamic religious school) that have long been centers of learning and spirituality.
